SEIU Nurses were featured on NBC Bay Area and SF Weekly, speaking on unsafe working conditions and their plight for better protections. Their protest targeted San Francisco General Hospital and Alameda Health System. Attacks at Alameda Health System doubled from 2011 to 2012 from 40 to 79 reported incidents. Shanette Chatman recently spoke up about violence against healthcare workers at AHS which was featured on KRON 4. This comes at a time during contract negotiations.
