Local 1000 Nurses Sign 17 Tentative Agreements, Win Improved RN Supervision Language
On January 14, the Registered Nurses of Local 1000 Bargaining Unit 17 reached tentative agreement on 17 articles. This came on the heels of a package proposal received from the state earlier that same week.

"For the first time, the state actually came to negotiate with Bargaining Unit 17," said Nancy Lyerla, Bargaining Unit 17 chair (pictured right.)
Language covering RN supervision was one of the 17 tentative agreements reached.
Read details of all the tentative agreements here "Although we've made progress, the budget crisis is a huge obstacle to overcome in reaching agreement on our economic proposals," Lyerla said.
Ten proposals remain on the table, including mandatory overtime, post and bid, and all economic issues.
There are no future bargaining dates currently set for Unit 17 and the state. Unit 17 is made up of United Registered Nurses, which includes RNs in our state hospitals and prisons, Department of Health Services nurse evaluators who inspect facilitates, and nurse consultants who oversee special programs.
